Over the years, we've learnt that successful projects aren't simply about bricks, timber, and concrete. They're about people.

  • Some care for elderly parents.

  • Some have strict budgets.

  • Others prioritise strict design outcomes

Most renovation websites talk about:

  • Cost per square metre

  • Timelines

  • Inclusions

  • Permits

  • Quality workmanship

But very few talk about the human side of renovating or extending.

As someone who has spent 20+ years in construction, I find myself in a unique position because I’ve seen what happens after the contract is signed.

  • Relationships under stress

  • Families living through disruption

  • Decision fatigue

  • Budget anxiety

  • Couples disagreeing on selections

  • Parents trying to manage children during construction

  • Elderly residents worried about noise and access

  • Clients losing sleep over large financial commitments.

Building a price isn't exactly just building a price, it's a journey to establish compatibility, lifestyle, routines, expectations and personality.

How Much Will My Renovation Or Extension Cost?

Without question, this is one of the most common questions we're asked.

And it's a fair question.

The challenge is that two renovations that look almost identical on paper can have vastly different costs depending on site conditions, finishes, structural requirements, council regulations, and perhaps most importantly, the people living in the home.

We are stepping in the centre of someone’s home and making a significant change.

When clients first contact us, we can generally provide a realistic budget range based on previous projects of a similar size and specification.

However, providing a fixed price from a quick conversation or a set of concept plans isn't realistic—and in our opinion, isn't responsible.

An accurate renovation or extension price requires more than just measurements and drawings. It requires understanding the people and families with in the project.
